On this, what was one of the great feast days of the ancient Irish and today is the greatest scare fest of the western world we have a scary shot from the Clonbrock Collection. The actual title in the catalogue is "Swiss 94 B.Oberland. Man shrouded in a cloak standing on a tiled floor" which is not nearly as scary as the image itself. So, on this Halloween, from ghosties and ghoulies and long legged beasties and things that go BUMP in the night, dear Lord deliver us!

(Location update: derangedlemur suggested and Niall McAuley and StreetView corroborated that this is the museum building at Trinity College Dublin.)

Photographers: Dillon Family

Contributors: Luke Gerald Dillon, Augusta Caroline Dillon

Collection: Clonbrock photographic Collection

Date: Catalogue range c.1860-1930. Probably c.1890s (Dillon family members at Trinity)

Another Clonbrock at the door of this building: 9 men in front of ornate door, Trinity College, Dublin

And this archive shot, CLON1964 is titled Swiss 94 B. Oberland. Men standing on grass, some of the men are picking something up, possibly located at Trinity College, Dublin, but is clearly a snow fight near the same building in Trinity.

    B. Oberland is the Bernese Oberland, roughly in the centre of Switzerland around Interlaken. The scenery is stunning in that area.

One "Swiss 94" Trinity shot is convincingly dated to 1895 (see below). I think the 94 in the names is the year the sequence began, and it includes a swiss trip. I never saw anything like it in my life before! (an early flying machine?)

Well. That's me not sleeping for a week. How have we not come across this spooky gem before? 100% agree with [https://www.flickr.com/photos/gnmcauley] and others on the location. Seems an exact match for the tiles, columns, windows, steps, etc to me.
