I know that we have visited the houses in the Botanic Gardens before but you know that you can never have too much of a good thing? The dates of the enormous greenhouses are easy to establish and the straw boater should help with an approximate date?

My apologies for posting late this morning but Morning Mary had some IT issues, mea culpa!

Photographer: Robert French

I think that this is here (Streetview), meaning that it would be the Cactus (nearer bit), Aquatic (middle bit with the finials) and Fern Houses (further taller part) which at least in 2015 were undergoing restoration. There is a sign on the hoardings claiming that the existing Fern House dates from 1966, but it replaced an 1887 building. The Cactus house dates from 1890.

The two lads on the benches turn up at least twice more, I don't know if they were French's kids, or whether they were random boys attracted by a real live photographer.
