Snapshot of U.S. Marine Delbert L. Tenney, sitting in a chair, playing with his new puppy dog named Sammy after giving him a dog toy present during Christmas Day couch in the living room of the Tenneys’ house in the Midway Park neighborhood in Jacksonville, NC, around Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, December 24 or 25, 1945, during World War II. The Tenneys’ Christmas presents to each other are laid out on the floor beneath a small corner table with a small decorated Christmas tree. A dual record player and radio is seen on a bookshelf next to the tree. Delbert Tenney was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC, at the time [circa December 24-25, 1945].
