It has been a while since we had an O'Dea image and todays is a cracker given all the changes that have taken place on that skyline since 1960. HMS Malcolm, a ship from the Royal Navy paying a courtesy visit to Dublin must have been a security nightmare for the peelers in Pearse Street?

O Mac
I wouldn't be surprised if that was the Royal Navy's first visit since Helga (later Muirchú) popped off a few rounds back in Easter 1916.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/ During a later courtesy visit by a French frigate a visiting group of club photographers were threatened by a pistol toting French sailor, so O'Dea was probably wise to take the shot from the safety of the other quay
