Back to the ubiquitous Poole Collection today and probably Waterford, though that is not certain, and a Gas Works. Gas was extracted from coal and generally a pall of dust seemed to hang about those places and the surrounding area.

There's a gasometer on the 25" on Pierhead Road in Ferrybank, but no gasworks. Gasworks are on Harbour road on the south side.

Site remediation was in 2006 www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-20002809.html I assume the 2008 crash put the kibosh on redevelopment plans, hence the car park for now.
