I was thinking this Thomas might be en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Charles_Thomas whom we have seen before, for instance, in

The ears and hairline of the man at the piano made me wonder if he could be Will H Hays as at bottom towards left of chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn82014519/1924-04-02/ed-... reporting that he had been re-appointed chairman of the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America in April 1924 See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_H._Hays But I can't see a connection between Hays and the piano. John Charles Thomas did appear in a 1923 movie [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Under_the_Red_Robe_(1923_film)].

https://www.flickr.com/photos/23103743@N05, I think you're right about John Charles Thomas, so I will add his name to the catalog record. The other guy is a mystery. I don't think it's Will Hays. If you go to the catalog and download the TIFF file, I'm not sure if it says "Hayes" or not. There's another letter between the 'H' and 'a' but it looks like it's partially missing, I'm not sure if that means it was a mistake or it's just been lost over the years. I looked for people who accompanied Thomas on piano, and found that Lester Hodges did. Could that say Hodges instead of Hayes? I could not find a photo of Lester Hodges in my searching. If anyone can find a photo, we can confirm it's him or rule him out.
