The Commissioners of Irish Lights have been very kind to us over the years with the identification of the locations of their photos. On this occasion they seem to have slipped up and present us with this rock strewn and cliff dominated stretch of coastline. Some of the Marys are giggling in the background convinced that our intrepid Flickroonies cannot identify it but Morning Mary knows that nothing is impossible for our team. Will you be able to prove her right and if so to collect the prize of a STICKY BUN WITH EXTRA TOFFEE (Virtual)?

Oretani Wildlife (Mike Grimes)
Thinking the white rocks are chalk, I googled photos of "chalk cliffs Ireland". there are some in Portrush in Antrim of which the geology in the Alamy picture that appears near the top looks somewhat similar.

O Mac
Rathlin could be another possibility... It has cliffs with chalk outcrops. mvdirona.com/trips/britishisles2017/images/IMG_2931.web.jpg from mvdirona.com/2017/08/rathlin-island/

another reason why it could be Rathlin is that it has a lighthouse ... and CIL commissioned the photo... several places along the NE coast have basalt on limestone

O Mac
I'll bet my Stale Sticky Bun (with extra toffee).... that the photograph is of the south facing west shore of Rathlin... The ferns, ravines and the stoney/pebble foreshore appear to match the satellite image below... not to mind the chalk outcrops.. maps.app.goo.gl/MYPmbE3nYJg2vqu96

https://www.flickr.com/photos/91549360@N03 https://www.flickr.com/photos/184711311@N04 This is serious. I have scheduled a Video call with the other Marys at 10.00 am to discuss the claims made, we will get back to you with the result of our deliberations.

We moved our video call forward due to the urgent nature of the deliberations. We have discussed your comments in great detail and having consulted our internal rules and regulations (concerning the awarding of Virtual Sticky Buns and in particular Section 2.1.c Virtual Sticky Buns with EXTRA TOFFEE) we have decided to award 6 buns in total as follows: https://www.flickr.com/photos/91549360@N03 3 buns, https://www.flickr.com/photos/184711311@N04 2 buns and for the help, support and encouragement (even though we did not see any of the promised Rathlin photos from 2009) the last bun goes to https://www.flickr.com/photos/foxglove Very well done!! All the Marys.

aha .... later than I expected A view across Rathlin west to east with Fairhead in the distance www.flickr.com/photos/foxglove/51816192662/in/album-72157... do I get icing on my sticky bun ?
National Library of Ireland on The Commons
https://www.flickr.com/photos/foxglove Could you imagine the questions I might face later, such as: Mary, you were already handing out Virtual Buns with EXTRA toffee, like snuff at a wake, was it your decision to also give the virtual icing? Need I say more?
