Photograph of U.S. Women’s Army Corps 2nd Lt. Bennis M. Blue, wearing her full Army jump gear and parachutes, posing in a mock airplane jump doorway while she was attending airborne jump training for women with fellow WAC officers at Fort Benning, Georgia, in the late summer and fall of 1976. On Blue’s helmet is her WAC jump training number “AW003,” with the “A” standing for “Officer,” the “W” standing for “Woman,” and the “003” standing for Blue’s number in the alphabetically-arranged jump training order at Fort Benning of the WAC officers (1976) [two of the images printed on 3M photograph paper].
